FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Do you take insurance?

At Living Adjusted FWC, we proudly serve the Maui community as a cash based wellness office. We do not work directly with insurance providers. This allows us the time to cultivate a relationship with you and your family and provide care individually tailored to you, care that isn’t dictated by your insurance provider. Many of our families utilize this care as their health care — a holistic, preventative type of care that supports life, rather than more common reactive forms of health care, but if you have chiropractic coverage, we will gladly provide you with the necessary documentation to get reimbursed if you’re willing to file yourself. We accept HSA and FSA forms of payment in our office and always welcome open and honest conversations about finances.

Is Chiropractic care safe for my child?

We love seeing children at Living Adjusted FWC. Dr. Molly has extensive training in caring for the pediatric population. There is new research emerging continually to prove the safety and efficacy of chiropractic care for children. Chiropractic adjustments are both gentle and specific to the child’s developing spine and nervous system, often looking different than care for adult spines. Many of the clients we serve have their babies checked at birth. We enjoy providing the building blocks in the healthiest start to life.

If I don’t have back pain, why would I see a Chiropractor?

In any Chiropractor’s office you will see all kinds of ailments walk through the door - colds, flus, pain, bed wetting, headaches, nerve injuries, disc problems, hearing problems, ear infections, hormonal issues, high blood pressure, colic - the list is long. But the key is that Chiropractic does not treat the condition itself, it affects the body as a whole, changing the lives of people who are suffering as well as those who are not. Chiropractic care is founded on vitalstic principles that promote the liberation & longevity of the body’s intelligent life force. This type of care clears tension patterns, energy blocks and removes stress from the nervous system, freeing up the communication between the body and the brain and enhancing the coordination of the healing process. This internal freedom allows you to live out your fullest expression of health.

If I go to a Chiropractor once, will I have to go forever?

Chiropractic care is the largest, drugless healing arts and a natural way to express a vibrant, resilient lifestyle.  At Living Adjusted FWC, we want you to utilize this type of health care for as long as it is serving you. Most of our community continues coming back simply because of the incredible changes they’ve experienced in their lives and in the lives of those they love. Your Chiropractor may recommend continual care and it’s likely because they understand the impact; that the adjustment removes interference between the brain and the body. When there is a clear channel of communication within the nervous system, our bodies freely release stress, unwind, integrate experiences, detoxify, adapt and convey our fullest expression of health.

Why am I still experiencing pain after my first adjustment?

Immediately following your initial adjusting session you will likely feel one of three things: better, no initial change or a little worse for a moment while your body is healing and undergoing changes. Each adjustment is likely to increase awareness and initiate change within your body that may take hours or even days to fully integrate. It is important to note that the evidence of health within a system is merely the absence of pain or symptoms, but the expression of vitality. The goal of our work is to enhance vitality by caring for the life force coordinating all of your body’s functions.

By the time we come to a chiropractor, many of us have been carrying stored stress or deep tension patterns for a long time and have become accustomed, in mind and body, to the restricted behavior patterns. We often desire the quick fix or the one stop shop for change, but the nature of the healing process is not linear. If after the initial session you feel better, do not assume that the cause of the problem is “fixed” right away because the symptoms have resolved.  At Living Adjusted FWC, we honor the individuality of each person’s healing process. Again, the key here is that Chiropractic does not presume to treat or “fix” symptoms, but works with the intelligence of the body to return the nervous system to a state of normal physiology, normal function.

What is Webster Technique?

The Webster technique is a specialized training offered through the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association. This protocol is a tool in assisting the reduction of pelvic, muscular and ligamentous imbalances while supporting optimal baby positioning. By reducing the neurobiomechnical imbalances, the technique also facilitates the decrease in intrauterine constraint, often making the pregnancy and labor more comfortable for mom and baby. Reducing nervous system stress and bringing balance to the body during the motherhood transition can increase adaptability, healing and bring ease into the physical, hormonal, emotional and spiritual changes that occur for mom. We are honored to serve our families during this sacred transition. Learn more here.
